Flowers Nicole

Flowers Nicole, a Norwich-based flower shop, struggled with usability issues that made it difficult for customers to browse products and complete purchases. I conducted evaluative research using heuristic analysis, user flow mapping, and usability testing to identify pain points. This led to a website redesign focused on improving navigation and aligning the interface with industry standards.

Flowers Nicole: Resign

Flowers Nicole is a flower shop in Norwich. I conducted a redesign for the website. This helped hone my user interface design skills.

Tools

Design Process

Initial Research

I conducted this user flow to understand the website further.

Initial Research

Guided by the Neilson Norman Group's 10 Usability Heuristics for User Interface Design, I conducted an evaluation to uncover pain points.

Initial Research

Once I had gained an understanding of pain points. I conducted user interviews with a sample of five participants.

Initial Research

After I had completed the previous tasks, I conducted competitor research to understand the conventions of online flower shops in accordance with Jakob Law, which states that "Users spend most of their time on other sites. This means that users prefer your site to work the same way as all the other sites they already know. Design for patterns for which users are accustomed." (Nielsen Norman Group, 2017).

Result

Initial Research

The website I designed was modern and more legible than the previous one.
